APS’s new Audemars Piguet 15500 all-ceramic model has just arrived. By combining ceramic materials with the integrated cal.4302 movement and its complex functions, it becomes a paragon of craftsmanship and innovation—preserving the Royal Oak’s classic aesthetics while breaking the limits of traditional materials, making it a benchmark in modern haute horlogerie.

1. Advantages of ceramic material
High hardness and scratch resistance: Made from precision ceramics (such as zirconia), its hardness far exceeds stainless steel, so everyday wear is less likely to cause scratches and it retains its luster for a long time.
Lightweight and comfortable to wear: Lighter than metal, reducing wrist burden and suitable for extended wear.
Hypoallergenic and corrosion-resistant: Ceramic has stable chemical properties, is unlikely to cause skin sensitivity, and resists sweat and corrosion.
Unique texture: Surfaces are finely polished or given a matte finish, presenting a deep sheen or understated texture. Available in three colors: black, white, and the rare blue.

2. Case and bracelet design
Integrated structure: APS’s case and bracelet connect seamlessly, continuing the Royal Oak’s signature octagonal bezel and “Tapisserie” patterned dial; the ceramic material imparts a modern feel.
Complex manufacturing: APS uses ceramic sintering, which is extremely challenging and requires precise control of temperature and pressure, resulting in a low yield that highlights technical prowess.
Detailing: Bracelet links are chamfered and polished with softened edges for a comfortable fit on the wrist; the case thickness is about 10.5 mm, balancing complex engineering and wear comfort.
