Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon introduces two new models featuring exquisite, shimmering dials. The “Aventurine Enamel Dial” is crafted by applying a coating that blends crushed aventurine glass with Grand Feu enamel onto the dial. A very thin mixture of glass sand and water is manually applied over the crushed aventurine glass, then heated in a specialized kiln at over 800°C. This process is repeated multiple times to achieve the desired transparency, depth, and brilliance. Each firing requires different temperatures and durations. The dial production is highly challenging, with a high rejection rate, resulting in limited quantities available for mass production and delivery.
